Anna Silk was the first child of Peter Silk (an academic) and Ilkay Silk (a actress, playwright, director, producer and teacher at St. Thomas University). Anna Silk's dad is from Britain, and her mother, an Turkish Cypriot English expat. She remembers watching her mother working in rehearsals for plays. As a child, she played in commercials for a number of companies. Anna relocated to Toronto in the fall of 1999 to pursue her acting talents. After that, she settled at Los Angeles (California) over the next decade. Seth Cooperman, whom she had met in an Los Angeles actors' workshop back in 2007, became her partner in the year 2009. Anna had changed her religion to Judaism and the couple married in Fredericton.
