April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball player American is part of a select category of females who have been awarded medals at multiple Olympics. Ross will compete in Tokyo to compete for her third Olympic medal along with Alix Klineman who is a first time Olympian. Ross's aim is to get her first Olympic gold medal. As she turns 39, it could be her last opportunity to claim the Olympic gold medal. Still confident but she is not sure. Ross said on NBC Boston that he believes that if the team plays their most effective, and even play an excellent game, they will be able to win gold. Also, I'll take the chance to have luck. Ross was born in 1982, and grew up within Costa Mesa California with her siblings and parents, started playing sports in Newport Harbor High School. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. Being a pre-athlete, she played indoor track and volleyball. She clearly was the top in the game of indoor volleyball. Based on her biography, she was an outside blocker as well as a middle hitter in the volleyball court throughout her time in high school. The award was presented to her as one of the Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the Year in 1999 due to her accomplishments. In 2000, she was awarded her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in volleyball. Ross and Klineman have been performing their duties from the year 2017. But, Ross had already been a seasoned athlete in the world of beach volleyball prior to Klineman and Ross joined forces. The American has been a major winner in events twice, with various partners. The other has become an iconic player in the world of volleyball. From 2007 to 2013 she was in a partnership by Jennifer Kessy, who is currently her coach. Along together with Kessy Ross, she won the World Championship in 2009, while racing in the international circuit. They were awarded a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team along with Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross Walsh was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's departure. They took home the bronze medal at the beach volleyball competition in the Rio Olympics 2016. Ross was a player for the Trojans of USC in her the college years following her graduation from in high school. The time she spent at USC was awe-inspiring. In 2000, she was recognized as Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and NCAA Freshman of the Year, and was also she was an All-American. The Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four. Her personal tragedy was a crushing loss in her sophomore year however she was able to return her place as an All-American. The two years following her she led the Trojans to the top of the mountain and took home consecutive national championships. Ross was an excellent volleyball player and won the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the best female college volleyball player. Ross studied International Relations at USC. Margie Ross did not see her daughter achieve the heights in the world of beach volleyball. Margie, Ross's mother, passed away in 2001 when Ross was still an USC sophomore. The cancer was diagnosed as breast. Ross holds her mother very dearly. Margie remains a constant source of inspiration to her both at and off the beaches.
